2010 Anniston Spring Gathering

September 17-19, 2010

Imperial Home Page -> Events -> Spring Anniston 2010

Put your TorqueFlite in Drive and turn the Airtemp on . . . It's time for another fabulous Anniston get together! Alabama Packards would like to cordially invite all Imperial owners to Anniston, Alabama, for the weekend of September 17, 18 and 19, 2010. We had many fine cars at our Spring 2008 gathering, and everyone had a great time!

The meet will be held at The Victoria, a victorian home that has been restored with 44 additional rooms added in the rear of the property in the style of the original home. This bed and breakfast is elegantly furnished and offers many amenities. A block of rooms are reserved for this event at a rate of $69.00 per night plus tax, which includes a delicious complementary Southern-style breakfast on Saturday and Sunday mornings (from 7:00 a.m. until 10:00 a.m.).

Since our last visit, there have been some changes made at the Victoria. The previous owner was foreclosed on and the property taken over by the original family. They have since donated it to Jacksonville State University, who are the new owners. The bar and restaurant were shut down by the previous owners, so at this time, only the breakfast buffet is available. Everything else remains the same as before.

The fun will begin Friday around 7:00 p.m. with a cocktail party hosted by Donald Taccone.  This is always great fun with wonderful food and spirits!

Saturday will allow everyone a chance to look, drive, visit and kick tires. Lunch will be on your own and there are several places within walking distance. The city of Anniston is promoting their first ever "Cruise In" in downtown Anniston from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. on Noble Street, just a few blocks away. We have arranged for dinner at the local restaurant, Classic on Noble.  This restaurant catered our Christmas Party, and the food was fabulous. We have arranged  to receive a salad, your choice of one of three entrees, with dessert, coffee or tea for the price of $35.00, which includes tax and gratuity. The cruise in will be very close to the restaurant, so those that wish to participate can park their car, look around at the other cars in attendance and have dinner, all without having to move their car. This will be a good chance for us to show others just what an Imperial or Packard is! I have been told that there may be vendors selling hot dogs and such, but this is not guaranteed. If you are planning to have dinner with the group at Classic on Noble on Saturday evening, please let Donald know as soon as you can.

On Sunday, there will be time to visit, look and drive before it is time to check out and make the return trip home.

We hope that you will make plans to join us for a very relaxing and enjoyable weekend with friends, just a short distance from where you live.

Call The Victoria at
1-800-260-8781 to reserve your room . . . you will need to let them know that you are with the Alabama Packard Club when you make your reservation. After you make your reservation, email Donald (pacdoc1956@aol.com) to let him know when you will be arriving, how many nights you'll be staying, what type of car you will be bringing, and if you want to eat at the Classic on Noble on Saturday night. Just to let you know, the hotel policy is no pets allowed. Please make arrangements as soon as possible, as the availability is limited.

PS . . . the dates for the Spring 2011 trip will be announced after the Fall 2010 meet, just in case you cannot make it this Fall.
