able to handle dealer orders more efficiently and quickly. This is an important factor in the luxury car market where so many orders from dealers are for cars that already have been sold to the customer. "

          "Our decision to open this plant is evidence of our confidence in the future of the Imperial, It has won a solid position in the fine car field. We are certain it will gain an even stronger position in the years ahead. "

           The Warren Avenue building is one that Chrysler Corporation has used for automotive manufacturing. It has been completely renovated and re-equipped for its new role.

          The plant is tooled to produce Imperial, Imperial Crown and Imperial LeBaron automobiles at the rate of 27 an hour, and in almost any combination of optional equipment items. It has, for example, a separate air conditioning line which has the capacity to equip 100 per cent of production with air conditioning units.

          Plant manager for the Imperial plant is G. T. Poirier, formerly general manufacturing manager at the Chrysler Jefferson plant.

          Mr. Poirier listed the following as the principal manufacturing features of the plant:

          An advanced zone-type inspection system which requires that the car at each stage of manufacture must pass inspection before it enters the succeeding stage.

          One of the most advanced statistical quality control systems in the automotive industry.

          The first automatic body control static switching system in the industry.
