1929 Imperial Roadster

Imperial Home Page -> Imperials by Year -> 1929 -> Roadster

This is a 1929 Chrysler Imperial Roadster with a custom Locke body. This is a rare car and only a few were produced. It should not be confused with the regular roadster body, also made by Locke. The rear deck is very different and the body has a swept panel which goes from the cowl to the rear of the car. The rumble seat has its own windshield, and the rear deck is much lower in profile. The car has a 310 cubic inch, 6-cylinder, engine with a high compression Red Head and develops 112 HP. It has 136-inch wheelbase, hydraulic brakes are standard. The engine is quiet and smooth with excellent performance as is the entire drive line.

The paint, chrome, top, side curtains and interior are excellent. The car won an AACA, first-place, 20 years ago and was placed in a museum. It is now back on the road with re-built hydraulics and cleaned fuel system. All lights and gauges work as do the radiator shutters and vacuum tank.

This is a rare and beautiful car worthy of consideration by any serious collector
