We recently saw this beauty for sale on the web. Here's what the owner had to say about it. The Chrysler Imperial, introduced in 1926, was the company's top of the line vehicle for much of its history. Models were produced with the Chrysler name until 1954, and again from 1990 to 1993. In 1926, Walter P. Chrysler decided to compete with Cadillac and Lincoln in the luxury car field. Chrysler offered a variety of body styles: a four-passenger roadster, a four-seat coup� on a 120 in wheelbase, five-passenger sedan, and a seven-passenger top-of-the-line limousine. The car set a transcontinental speed record in the year it was introduced, driving more than 6,500 miles in the week. The car was chosen as the pace car for the 1926 Indianapolis 500. The Chrysler Imperial was redesigned in 1931. The car received a new engine, a 6.3 L Straight 8. Marketing materials for this generation of Imperial referred to the car as the "Imperial 8", in reference to the new engine. The engine would not be found in other Chrysler vehicles. The redesign also saw the introduction of new wire wheels that became the standard wheel treatment until the 1940s. Stock car driver Harry Hartz set numerous speed records with an Imperial sedan at Daytona Beach, Florida. The Chrysler Imperial is one of the most sought after and valuable Full Classics, their rakish lines among the most beautiful and graceful cars of the Classic Era. This stunning example is a show winning older restoration that has been carefully preserved and still presents nearly as well as a freshly restored car. The Early 30's Chrysler Imperial is one of the most rare and desirable Full Classics. This Extremely Rare and Desirable Model is very hard to find, they rarely if ever come up for sale, don't let this one get away as there wont be lots of others to choose from. Finished in an appealing Color Combination, you will have no problem stealing the show in this car! The front of the car is nearly 10 feet long! The Rakish lines of the Imperial is legendary and the split V windshield design cue adds a sporting feel to this elegant beauty. Convertible Sedans provide the best of all worlds with all the benefits of an open car and the comfort and privacy of sedan with Roll down windows. This is why the Convertible Sedan is typically the most sought after body style. They were expensive when new, and usually built to order. The car features a fully integrated factory Trunk, which balances perfectly with the rest of the coachwork. As you can see the car is in excellent condition. a number 1 show car with no flaws or faults whatsoever. The sumptuous full leather interior is in excellent condition as well and all the bright work is perfect on this incredible restoration. The car has a really unusual Mascot. The incredibly long 384 inch Straight 8 is in top show condition and runs as well as it looks. The car is completely detailed top to bottom.
