We recently saw this beautiful 1937 Imperial 4-Door Convertible for sale on the web. Here's what the original owner had to say about it:

A great big luxury car, superb in beauty and performance, amazingly priced in the thousand-dollar range, that's the new Chrysler Imperial for 1937. This beautiful car is 204 inches from bumper to bumper, with about the longest, proudest hood you ever saw, with racy low-swung lines that never seem to end! Inside, delightful comfort, great wide seats - spacious level floors, deep billowy upholstery, chair high seats with restful backs. 110 horsepower, a superb eight-cylinder engine with dual carburetion and aluminum head. Magnificent riding comfort from Airflow weight distribution and Aero Hydraulic Shock Absorbers enhanced by the length and size of the car. Safety All-Steel bodies with beautiful one-piece steel roofs, shockless steering, hydraulic brakes, automatic overdrive, floating power. An out-and-out luxury car, yet economical to buy and drive. See the new Chryslers for 1937 - Royal, Imperial, Airflow. Drive them, compare them. You'll agree, for 1937, Chrysler tops 'em all!

This is a quote for one of the sales adds produced by Chrysler for 1937. Originally conceived by Walter Chrysler in the 1920's to compete with the big Cadillacs, the Imperial from the word go was a highly designed luxury car and the flagship of the Chrysler Motor Company for many years. Still in charge of styling in '37, the new models bore the signature design characteristics of the famous Ray Dietrich. This year he adopted a rounded curved theme and used minor trim differences - grills, hood vents, moldings, and other body hardware to create differences in the models. Absolutely elegant from every angle, the 1937 Chrysler 4-door Convertible is to this day one of the finest convertible sedans yet built in America.

Finished in stunning deep burgundy exterior over Oxblood red interior, this superb restored Imperial Convertible boasts a highly detailed professional restoration from top to bottom. Powered by its original 299 CID 110 HP in-line 8 cylinder engine linked to a 3 speed manual transmission with working automatic overdrive, this Imperial is a rare surviving example of the design philosophies and high level craftsmanship of a less complicated time. Truly a car that must be seen and driven to be appreciated, this fully restored masterpiece is not only beautiful to look at but a pleasure to drive. A car that is just as much at home cruising down the road on a beautiful warm Summer day as it is sitting at a show drawing attention from everyone.

With almost limitless options available in today's collector car market, one may find it difficult to decide which direction to go when considering an addition to an existing collection or the first purchase for a new collection. One thing is for sure, few cars in the world will have such universal appeal as the great "Big Iron" big fender convertibles from the 1930s. These cars have enjoyed tremendous market growth over the last several years and will continue to grow as demand for them increases at an exponential rate. Reserved for only the most astute buyers, this is one opportunity that will not soon be repeated!

We hope the new owner will share more photos with us soon!
