Roberto Anoardo's 1958 Imperial Coupe

Imperial Home Page -> Imperials by Year -> 1958 -> Roberto Anoardo

(2008) Roberto Anoardo in Italy recently wrote in to tell us about his "new" Imperial Coupe.   See below to see what he had to say about this beauty.

 :
Car was previously owned by DARLENE & FRANK D. LOWERY from Berlin Heights, Ohio. Other previous owner was MARGARET PEEPER from MODESTO, California. Off course, the chance to contact them for info about history of the car will be very appreciate!!! At this time I have no contact with them at all.

After a long search, I decided to buy this car from a dealer and not from ebay or private person. This is quite a new experience for me, normally I use to make business with ebay sellers. I know that on a dealer you spend more but if the dealer is honest and serious, the money are well spent. Hyman Ltd. gave me all I need for check and inspect the car from Italy. All the picture asked and all the inspection was done correctly. The car is nicer then as described. This is the reason why I decided to add the link to their website.

I preferred to use my shipping company that follow all our shipment from U.S.A. The company is Del Corona & Scardigli, manager is miss Ottavia. Hyman have all contact and ability to manage all shipment procedures but in reason that I have an open channel with Del Corona, I preferred to use them. I especially asked to my shipping company to SEND A CLOSED TRUCK FOR PICK UP THE CAR and ABSOLUTLEY NO CAR ABOVE MINE. This because sometimes (especially american cars with automatic transmission) brake fluid or transmission fluid (very corrosive) can damage a car stored under another. I asked Hyman to take pictures of the loading phases and this was correctly done as you can see here above. Trucker taked maximun care in all the procedure inspected by Hyman representative.

Car arrived in Genoa on 13 of Jannuary. Custom procedures was done in a few days and on Jennuary 17th the Imperial was ready for delivery. Me and Raffaele removed the car from the container (new and very clean). Under the car no one drop of oil was found (after more than 20 days of sea). Car was correctly stored on the container. No damage was found. After some phone call to our 'Mopar consultant' we discover where brake release was and how to start the engine (by pressing the neutral button!). Engine sounds great! a very very Mopar sound! We take a little tour and all seems perfect (except the drive side window switch hat doesn't work, the car travalled with the window open but no problem happened). The only thing to be rapaired is the driver seat as already knowed.

Here's some additional photos from the dealer before Roberto purchased the car.
