Jim Hutton is working on a tricky oil well fire in Venezuela, complicated by guerilla warfare in the area, and sends his wife, Katharine Ross, back home to Houston.

Katharine Ross is greeted at Houston International Airport by her mother, played by Vera Miles, in her '68 Imperial.

Ross explains to her mother that Greg (Jim Hutton) needs help from her father (John Wayne) on this job, even though she knows her mother is deathly afraid of him returning to any more oil well fires. Nice leather in that '68!

But her mother surprises her by immediately turning around, so they both can catch a flight back to Caracas. Are those dual-stripe whitewalls on that brand new 1968 Imperial?
