Elijah Scott's 1970 Imperial LeBaron

I purchased this 1970 Imperial LeBaron on August 8, 2002, through an ad on the Online Imperial Club Classifieds.  This Imperial was sold new to a gentleman in Chicago in 1969.  In October 1988, the second owner purchased the car from the original owner (coincidentally, I purchased my first Imperial, a 1971 LeBaron, this same month).  He used it for a couple of years to "tow" a 1968 Chrysler 300 to shows, and then parked it in his garage.  It remained parked in his garage until I "rescued" it in 2002.

The car currently has about 62,000 miles on it and is in excellent condition throughout.  I believe that the car has been repainted at some point in its life, but the color is correct and the paint job is quite good.  The interior is completely original and is virtually flawless.

The fender tag reveals the following information about the car:

• V5X-the car has a black vinyl rub molding running from front to rear.  Buyers of 70s could select between a double pinstripe that ran from front to rear and "kicked-up" on the rear quarter or the rub molding.  It seems like most buyers opted for the molding.
• B41-front disc brakes (B51 indicates power brakes but that code won't appear on the tag) 
• G11-tinted glass all windows 
• L35-cornering lights 
• L31-fender mounted turn signal indicators 
• H31-rear window defroster 
• P45-remote trunk lid release 
• P25-50/50 split front seat; six way power seat on driver's side only 
• V1B-full vinyl top, blue 
• H53-AutoTemp HVAC system 
• R37-AM/FM 8-track multiplex stereo radio 
• R31-dual rear speakers 
• P41-power door locks 
• EB3-body color, blue (Bahama Blue) 
• MDB7-Interior trim combination--M is medium grade for LeBaron; D is a 50/50 split front seat in cloth with leather trim; B7 indicates blue
• EB3-paint color for inner door panels, blue (the metal part of the door). While this car is more or less monochromatic, cars with contrasting color schemes would have a non-body color matching code here. 
• 924-scheduled build date of September 24, 1969
• 004179-vehicle order # -- order was placed pretty early 
• E85-440 4V engine (standard) 
• D32-A727B torqueflite automatic transmission (standard)
