Stinky

That's the nickname my new LeBaron got. Don't ask why. I emailed to Kenyon about the 1964 LeBaron my brother remembered seeing on Ebay. My brother had some pics left also from Ebay and that HTML-page Kenyon advertised it. Yes, the car didn't sell on Ebay and was still available. It was very hard (?) to get more pictures about the car, because Kenyon had so much other things to do. Well, in my opinion we didn't have to hurry.

I finally received more pictures about the LeBaron, I guess I had paid the car already, well.. who cares. It looked like it was supposed to. Kenyon promised to put some extra stuff with the car.

Now, LeBaron is with swedish people in Stanton, California. It's waiting to be shipped to Finland.I will have it in March-April I think. I really can't wait.

Something happened.. Kenyon got me convinced that I could get a better car for less.. . And I really started to think that he might be right. So, I decided to sell this LeBaron or keep it as a parts car, or maybe a retirement restoration project?? You cannot have too many Imperials, right?

I put an advertisement on IML and a guy from Virginia contacted me. He had a Sequoia Green LeBaron with black vinyl top and green interior. The seller seemed to be very nice guy, and chose me to be "a good home" enough for his 1964 Imperial LeBaron.

The car seemed to be in very good mechanical condition, but still.. it will need work to be perfect. And it has a AM/FM radio!!! Yes!!! So, we made a deal and I will pick the car up myself in the summer/early fall. The only bad thing about this car is the dent on the right front fender. See the photos.

This 1964 LeBaron has some unique features compared to later '64 models. For example, there's an "Imperial" -medallion on the dashboard, then there's very odd( ;-) ) looking inner doorhandles with woodgrain ?? and also, front door panel lockers open from pushbutton! Nice!

The history for this GreenBaron is that it was originally purchased from Fisher-Record Motor Sales Inc in Grosse Pointe, Michigan. The company that received this car was Valley Die Cast Corporation in Detroit, Michigan.

The car moved to Arizona in the seventies and stayed there most of it's life. After the Valley Die Cast Corp owners(?) widow died in '86 car was taken back to Detroit where it was storaged for many years. After 2 owners it ended up to Alexandria, Virginia. And now, to Finland :)

hmm... Maybe I'll have to buy a convertible '64 also?? :o)

__________

1964 Imperial is the best car is I have ever ridden in. The best car I have owned. I, of course, like other Imperials as well. Styling might be the best on 57-'59 -models. I like '57-'58 Hemi engine most. But there's something on '64-'66 models that other models don't have. More class, more style, more something that I cannot put into words.

1964 LeBaron was top of the class. That's why I had to get one. I almost get the same feeling when I look at this advertisement of 1960 Crown...

So I hope that maybe You could feel it too.
